Edgelin help & documentation

Welcome to the Edgelin documentation. Edgelin is a reverse proxy service that accelerates and protects your website by caching content at the edge, blocking malicious traffic, and shielding your origin server from direct exposure.

What is Edgelin?

Edgelin sits between your visitors and your backend server. All traffic flows through our edge servers, where it's inspected, filtered, and cached before reaching your origin.

Performance — Content is cached in memory and on disk, compressed with Brotli, and served with minimal latency. Image optimization, stale-while-revalidate caching, and automatic tracking parameter removal come included.

Security — Every request passes through a web application firewall that blocks SQL injection, XSS, path traversal, and command injection attacks. Filter rules let you block or challenge traffic by IP, country, or user agent. Bot detection stops automated attacks while letting legitimate visitors through.

Reliability — Origin monitoring tracks your backend health and alerts you when it goes down. Circuit breakers prevent cascading failures by stopping requests to unresponsive backends. Visitors see a branded error page with automatic retry instead of browser errors.

How It Works

Point your domain's DNS to our edge server and configure your backend IP in the dashboard. When visitors request your site, Edgelin checks for cached content, inspects the request for threats, applies your filter rules, and either serves from cache or fetches from your backend.

Your origin IP stays hidden. Attackers can't bypass protection by hitting your server directly if you restrict backend access to Edgelin's edge IPs.

Getting Started

  1. Create an account and verify your domain

  2. Configure your endpoint with your backend IP

  3. Update your DNS to point to Edgelin

  4. Configure filter rules and cache settings
