Domain verification

Before adding a domain to Edgelin, you must verify ownership by adding a TXT record to your DNS. This prevents unauthorized use of domains you don't control.

Verification Process

  1. In the dashboard, click Add Endpoint and enter your domain

  2. Click Generate TXT Record to receive a unique verification token

  3. Add the TXT record to your domain's DNS

  4. Return to the dashboard and click Verify Domain

Adding the TXT Record

Add a TXT record with these settings:

Field

Value

Name/Host

@ (or leave blank, depending on provider)

Type

TXT

Value

The token shown in the dashboard (e.g. edgelin-a1b2c3d4e5f6...)

The record goes on your root domain. If you're adding blog.example.com, the TXT record still goes on example.com.

Subdomain Coverage

Verifying your root domain automatically covers all subdomains. If you verify example.com, you can add blog.example.com, shop.example.com, and any other subdomain without additional verification.

Troubleshooting

Verification fails immediately after adding the record DNS changes take time to propagate. Wait a few minutes and try again.

"Token not found in DNS records" Double-check you added a TXT record (not CNAME or A). Ensure the value matches exactly, with no extra spaces or quotes.

Still failing after several minutes Some DNS providers are slow to propagate. You can check if your record is visible using Google's DNS lookup — search for your domain with type TXT.

Once verified, you can proceed to configure your endpoint and point your DNS to Edgelin's edge server.
